For the financial year ending 31 March 2022, the Council's Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) has been completed. As neither the gross expenditure nor gross income for Great Alne Parish Council exceeded £25,000 for the year ending 31 March 2022, GAPC was able to certify itself as exempt from a limited assurance review by the external auditor under section 9 of the Local Audit (Smaller Authorities) Regulations 2015.
There is no requirement to have a limited assurance review or to submit an AGAR to the external auditor, provided the PC has certified itself as exempt at a meeting of the authority after 31 March 2022 and a completed Certificate of Exemption is submitted no later than 30 June 2022. GAPC held its Annual Meeting on 12 May 2021, followed by an EGM on 24th May - at these meetings the Annual Governance and Accounting Statements were approved and GAPC confirmed its exemption status. The completed Certificate of Exemption was submitted to our external auditor appointed by the SLAAA - in our case PKF Littlejohn LLP- on 13 June 2022.
